Calendars

A new year always brings a new calendar(s) in some size, shape or form.  For some, electronic is the only way to go, but for me it's old school ~ paper!
a gracious gift from the folks at Crafty Secrets!  You can get your very own right here
I've spent much time in the past week working on calendars ~ none of which are completely finished, but I remain the consummate optimist and they will be completed this week!

Here's a peek of what's on the table....

A fabulous idea from Vanessa at Stampington ~ a daily calendar journal....

Yes, I cut 365 3x5 cards from card stock ~ stamped each card with a month and date ~ created my monthly dividers from 7Gypsies Aero Postale collection ~ and embellished with washi tape ~

So, each day throughout the year, I will jot down a thought, action, accomplishment, prayer...whatever I want....

The good news is the tedious work is finished....each new year I will record the new year under the previous one, and start anew...I now have a record for years to come and can look back on the daily doings of previous years!

I  also make the girls a little calendar to stand out in their entryway.  It's small, stands in a floral frog and is really just a date reminder.  I found this lovely freebie that Andrea at the Cottage Market offered.  Visit her for your very own calendar and lots of other freebies!

For the past 6 years I've made a calendar for our home that prominently hangs in the breakfast room.  It's really a scrapbook calendar as each month showcases photos from the past and the present.
I think you get the "picture!"
Here's my calendar for 2013, all decked out in background paper and the month titles ~ just waiting for the photos....

Maybe I'll take a photo of each month and start the Monday of that month's blog with the photo...hmmmm....

Anyhoo ~ the hive was buzzin' this week with jewelry doings too...
I challenged myself to cast solder for embellies that I could use in my jewelry creations.

I did some research on the web, studied videos on YouTube (love the Tube!!), took a deep breath, made some molds, and jumped in!

Here are the rough castings, most have been filed and sanded.  I still have to finish them with patina and polish....Color me very happy!

My week was capped off with a 13 hour art fest with my Scrap Happies ~ long awaited and long overdue as my schedule has kept me from this amazing group of 15 ladies.

Dearest friend and organizer, Sandra, was honored for her 15 months of keeping this group going ~ arranging our room with Residence Inn ~ planning and executing our Retreats ~ providing love, supplies, and homemade cookies every month!

can you say "shopping spree at BlueMoon Scrapbooking???
Okay, those calendars aren't going to finish themselves so I think it's time to wrap up things for this week.

I hope your new year has gotten off with a great start ~ I wish you love and blessings this week.  Thank you for all your love and support!
xoxo

WOW! I am so impressed with your calendar system! I might have to do one like that for myself, but now I wish it was already finished!!

you may well be the Calender Queen dear Karen :)

what a great project your 365 card box is too!

I keep a wall calender that I treat myself to each year...this year of all things the woodblock artwork on a "witches" calender spoke to me ... not sure what that's about, but the artwork is what drew me in as it is very inspiring and uplifting actually

Your castings are intriguing...I am not all that familiar with what I'm looking at really or know much about that ... it will be fun to see what happens next

Happy Monday to you dear one
