Hip, Hip, Hooooooooray!!!

WOW!  Had I known the end results ahead of time, I would've had surgery 10 years ago!!

On Tuesday it will be the 4 weeks since Dr. John Wild, Jr.  performed a complete hip replacement for me.  It was an amazing journey and one I would like to share with you.

Tucson Orthopaedic Institute is a state-of-the-art medical facility dedicated to fixing bones, and joints which need fixing.

From the beginning of this odyssey, I knew I was in the best possible hands.
Oh, the aesthetics and views weren't bad either!

computer the medical staff used to enter my info each day
Info board across from my bed indicating who was in charge of me that day

I was not going to miss the TED hose!

Parting Gifts!

Once home, my "angels of mercy" made recovery speedy!  Here's me at one week Post-Op....

Thank you all SO much for your prayers, good wishes, cards, sweets, spa lovelies, and beautiful flowers ~ you made everything so special.

You might have noticed a pretty bag on my walker ~ my sweet, talented friend and neighbor, Debbie, made this for me!  I'm going to miss it when I no longer need the walker....I could put everything in it!!

A beautiful plant from my Roach "sister" and "daughters" in Phoenix...

And a sweet from sweet Katherine in Toronto, Canada!

How can I adequately thank my friends who gave up their time to spend with me in the early weeks of recovery?  I can't...all I can say is that I'm there for you when you need me ~ new hip and all!

Well, I think my progress has been Heaven sent when I think back to the first day....

And where I am today...
Working on jewelry!!
Ron is taking me out so I can get "back in the saddle" with driving.  Fortunately, the left leg is the surgical leg so I shouldn't have any issues.

I know it won't be long before I can resume an exercise routine...

Ride a bike with a friend...

Or get back to dancing...

In the meantime, I'm spending a little time each day at the workbench with my jewelry.  The Trunk Show is set for Sunday, November 16th at 1:00.  I hope to see you there!

Have an exceptional week and thanks for stopping by!

So happy to hear you are well on the mend. So sorry I have not been there to bring you a bit of cheer or help in some way, but it sounds like you had plenty of help from others. You were/are in good hands. Continue getting stronger. Hope to see you when we return. I got just a couple of baubles for you in Muscat. Nothing terribly exciting, but I was thinking about you. Love you...
