"It's not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving."
"We cannot all do great things, but we can all do small things with great love."

On Saturday I had the blessed good fortune to spend my day with more than eighty Godly women at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, right here in Tucson.
The theme for this retreat was "Sacred Sisterhood." How better to start the Retreat, or any day for that matter, then with Mass! The music, Scripture readings, and Father Richard's homily were all about sisterhood, which spoke so deeply to me.
Following Mass, we were treated to a delicious breakfast (sorry...forgot to take pictures!!) . We enjoyed a variety of homemake drop biscuits, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, and homemade granola. The gentlemen from the parish spoiled us as they cooked, served, and cleaned up this morning feast!
Thank you to Ron Russell for being Top Chef! You and your team were amazing!!

Following breakfast, Janet gave us something to think about ~ Cairns.
If you are a hiker, you're probably familiar with the term. If not, click here before reading further....
Janet was so inspiring and we each got to make our own cairn, relating to our direction in life...
my very own cairn holds special meaning for me |
TC shared a moving, personal story of sisterhood ~
Given a prompt, we then engaged in discussion with the sisters at our individual tables...
Sue and Judith |
Barbara, Alma, and Agnes |
Terri and Marty |
Terri was already a sister ~ she was my Principal at my first teaching job! How blessed I am to have these women in my life...
Time was given to journaling and prayer ~ somehow, the day just flew by ~ and before we knew, it was lunchtime! Returning from the Chapel to find this yummy and beautiful spread at our places.
The latter part of the day was devoted to decorating the Composition notebooks which were our journals, and my "raison d'etre" for being part of this Retreat.
I was a guest presenter and led the ladies in putting the crowing glory touches to the precious, sacred thoughts which this simple notebook held.

Here are the amazing ladies who made this possible!! Thank YOU!!

We closed our day with a powerful ceremony ~ each bringing our own light into the world....

Thank you for your love, friendship, and sharing with me...you are blessed and priceless!

Oh Karen, what a beautiful blog about our beautiful day. You were such a beautiful part of the day. When I met you in October, I just knew right then that you would be an inspiration for our day...telling our stories of Sacred Sisterhood. The journal making was such a special piece of the day and the women loved it. Even the women who didn't see themselves as creative found their creative voice through their journals. Thank you for all you did and all you are...a Sacred Sister in Christ. Blessings and Gratitude, Helen and the entire team and all the women who participated.
What a fun day and a great (and very organized!) group of ladies at your Church!
Wow...sounds like you had a blessed time Karen. Nothing like spending some time with women who love the Lord.
Hugs

Karen,
The Women's Retreat is an amazing event and I was sorry to have to miss it this year. The ladies put so much thought and effort into every minute of the day.
I think it is wonderful that you could share your enthusiasm and teaching ability with the group. I am sure they all loved it.
BTW anyone is welcome to attend the retreat. There is a limited enrollment, but you don't have to be a member of CCCC to attend.
What an uplifting day! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and pictures.
Hi Karen I LOVE this post!! I went to a womens spiritual retreat back in Jan. it was weekend retreat!! I LOVED it there is nothing like being with kindred spirt believers. The men cooked dinner for us and they gave each one of a rose and had rose petals on the table!! candles lit, and waited on us!! all in white shirts!! But the love we shared and the lessons I learned were unforgettable. I am recovering from my surgery for my bladder medicine no aspirating for me this time!! Yay!! Just getting my groove back!!! XOXO Love ya Karen Fran.
Nice of you to share such a special day with us ... it looks and sounds really special from beginning to end and how very nice of you to inspire so many with your artistic skills too!
Cairns are something we were introduced to on a trip to the west coast ... we were charmed both in Sausalito and Vancouver coming upon different ones which led us to investigate deeper
Hugs and Blessings to you and yours for a wonderful weekend dear Karen
