Life, As Usual...

source
Life as usual has been the order of the day this past month, and that's perfectly okay in my book.

With the holidays peeking around the corner and all that means, daily routine is a good thing.

I took a little breather after my Trunk Shows, but had three commissioned pieces to complete for my clients before the holidays set in...

Halloween arrived and our girls were the Emoji Twins...

Even our little pug Alice got into the act as the Rufferee!

Celebrating at Stephanie and Jeremy's Halloween Party...
Our amazing hosts were the Stanley Cup and Black Hawks player...

The party was not short on fabulous decorations either!

November brought the annual Fun Day at our Sts. Peter & Paul Parish.  It was a fantastic success.  We were so happy to watch our Goddaughter, Serena, perform to "Say Yes" ala Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Beyonce. I think those famous ladies would be proud of sweet Serena's rendition.

A first for the Hess family this year was Tucson's All Souls Procession (click on the link to learn more)....  What an amazing event!

Kiki, Jeremy, Stephanie, Shotzie, Kiko
My sweet SIL turned me on to preparing and freezing my Christmas cookie dough in advance, so I devoted last week to doing just that ~ all six batches!  I did this last year and found that baking them was not only a breeze, but a pleasure.

Wishing my new hip a very Happy 1st Year Birthday!!

Went in for my check up, had the x-ray, and doc said the hip is perfect ~ and it sure feels perfect!  Thank you, Dr. John Wild, Jr., staff at TOI ~ I love you all!

I'm embarking on a December project ~ December Daily with Ali Edwards.  I'm excited to be archiving the month with journal and photo entries for each day.

I'll keep you posted....supplies have arrived and I'm already planning my foundation pages.

While I'm passionate about my jewelry creations, I also love getting back to my "paper roots."  Stay tuned!

Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family!  We all have so much for which to be thankful...

As always, I'm thankful and blessed for your visit and support!

Doubly Blessed

Watching my jewelry art evolve during the past five years has given me pause to reflect....

Yes, it thrills me to learn new techniques, or watch a sheet of metal take on texture and unfold into a bracelet.
I love heating metal with my torch and gazing at the rainbow of colors that emerge from its depth.

Yet, if asked what is my greatest joy, without hesitation I would answer "Clients who have become beloved friends."

I've been doubly blessed by my friends in Phoenix and Tucson.  They believe in me and what I create.  So, when my dear friend, Nancy,  asked if I would be willing to hold a trunk show in her Scottsdale home because her friends want to meet the artist who's created the pieces she wears....I'm there!

I had the joy of meeting these ladies a week ago and sharing my passion with them.  When they asked if I would be returning next year, I knew I was doing something right!  I will be back, ladies!

Share the show with us...

Just one week later, to the day, I hosted my annual Holiday Trunk Show at Casa Hess ~ and you're invited!

Wow, it's all over for this year...kinda that letdown you feel when you've been planning for a big event for a long time...but, it's all good!

What's next, you ask?  Well, I'll be keeping you posted on that one. There's a BIG studio renovation!  Cabinets have been ordered, butcher block worktable top has arrived, and we're heading to SAHBA this weekend to decide on floor treatment.  Color me EXCITED!!!

This means my office will revert to being a guest room/office once again, and I'll be totally self-contained in the Studio!!  First stop will be the paint store....hmmmm, I'm thinking a very pale aqua would speak to my muse.  Stay tuned!

Have a simply beautiful week, my friends!

Hello Monday!

It's a glorious day this Monday in Tucson!  Happy first day of Autumn, my friends!

Upon waking, I opened the shutters in our bedroom, a daily ritual, and beheld the glorious rain.  Undisputedly, Heaven sent...

Getting the day started with my requisite Via Columbia Roast, yoghurt and leftover French Toast from Sunday's breakfast...

I am so grateful for my shower, which refreshes the outer and inner woman...

Visiting with prayer and sacred Scripture before turning to worldly things of the day...

Answering emails, writing my beloved blog, and finally turning to the work at hand...Preparing for two Holiday Trunk Shows next month...

The Holiday shows are different in that I prepare small decor items to use in decoration or for gift giving, in addition to the latest one-of-a-kind jewelry creations...

The decor process involves lots of glitter, glue, trimmings, vintage findings, and whatever this brain can envision...

And they begin to come together...

The tip of the iceberg...many miles to walk before I sleep...

This week and next, you'll find me out in the studio working on more of these pretties.

Save the date(s) ~

  • Scottsdale Trunk Show will be held on Sunday, October 11th from Noon-5pm, at the home of my dear friend, Nancy.
  • Tucson Trunk Show will be held on Sunday, October 18th from 1-5pm, at my home.
If you haven't received your Evite to either Show and would like to join me, please email me at khess136@yahoo.com

Until next month, have a glorious week and welcome Autumn!
